Designing for
friends far apart
This project was made as a part of Visual Thinking class, where we are to provide a graphic design solution to a problem we face. The problem I chose to tackle is scheduling. With friends across different time zones and with different priorities, it can get difficult or organize a time to meet them. This project aims to cut up the burden of scheduling, to a simpler, bite-sized action. The full process of the project has been documented as a book and is available to be viewed and downloaded from google drive.
The aesthetic of the the project was initially explored by creating a series of posters. Knowing the target audience for the project would be younger generation, I opted for vibrant colors and whimsical graphics.
For the project, three products were designed as solution: a scheduling website, an alarm application and an alarm device. They are all connected and serve to support each other in function. This particular image shows the different phases that shows on the alarm device while it counts down to the time of event, and lets you know when the event starts.
